Personal and Professional Highlights:

 (2005) Kindness Beats Blindness - Created community service, empowerment and sensitivity program in which 500 middle schoolers blindfolded themselves for a day to raise funding and awareness for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.  Featured on ABC’s Good Morning America

(2005) Sovereign Book Bank- Helped to collect more than 40,000 books for needy children during the holiday season, more than doubling the previous high of 19,000 books in 2004.

(2005) Landed exclusive interviews with dying Terri Schiavo’s brother-in-law, Scott.

(2004-)  Automania  – Developed, wrote, and produced half-hour Emmy-nominated NBC 10 television special on the Philadelphia International Auto Show.

(2004) Dare to Dream - Hosted mentoring expo for 2,000 Philadelphia high school students.

(2003) A Million & One Ways to Celebrate A Child - Authored powerful inspirational book  celebrating the joy and beauty of children.  Winner of I-Parenting Award in 2004.

(2003) Todd M. Beamer Foundation - Helped to create and served as host and keynote speaker in weekend Heroic Choices retreats for New York City children suffering severe trauma such as losing family members in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

(2003) Broadway Philly Style – Wrote and produced Emmy Award-winning NBC 10 television special showcasing Broadway from New York to Philadelphia.

(2003) A Step Toward Independence - Created, wrote and produced educational one-hour video on hip and knee joint replacement surgery.  Hosted by Hugh Downs.

(2003) The Magnificent 7 - Landed exclusive for ABC’s Good Morning America with U.S. Army Sgt. James Riley (leader of group) in the first media interview with an American POW in Iraq.

(2002, 2003) Variety Club Telethon - Served as a host on WKBW-TV Channel 7 and donated book sales to benefit initiatives at Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, NY.

(2002) The 9-11 Wall of Hope - Created 50’ display showcasing drawings, thoughts, poems and prayers of children from Families of Flight 93 and others.  Unveiled with PA Governor Mark Schweiker in Shanksville, PA on 9-11-02, and featured in his State of the State Address.

(2002-2004) THON - Stood for 48 straight hours (no sitting, no sleeping, no kidding) with Penn State University students and donated book sales at the annual marathon to benefit families of children with cancer.

(2002) Miracle of the Miners - Selected by media peers to be the only television reporter live on the scene as the world watched the miracle rescue of the nine-trapped Pennsylvania coal miners.

(2002) Journey to the Center of Earthwatch - Wrote and produced Emmy-nominated half-hour television special on weather forecasting for NBC 10 in Philadelphia, PA.

(2001) KIDS RULE! The Hopes and Dreams of 21st Century Children - Authored wide-ranging collection of the most important wishes from roughly 10,000 young children. 

(1997-99)  Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon - Served as a local TV host on Philadelphia’s WB 17.

(1991-1999) Philadelphia Mummers New Year’s Day Parade -  Served as Host for 10-hour live television broadcast of the 100-plus year old tradition involving some 10,000 participants.

(1990) Won Emmy Award as Outstanding Sports Reporter in Mid-Atlantic Region.

(1990) Philly’s Michael Jack – Wrote and produced award-winning NBC 10 television special hailed by the Philadelphia Daily News as “one of the finest programs in city TV history.”

(1990) Pete Rose - Landed only interview with the baseball star before he went to prison.

(1987) Dr. J – Won Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Broadcast for look at the life and career of basketball legend, Julius Erving.  Also wrote and produced the Dr. J retirement tribute video for the Philadelphia 76ers.

(1984) Won Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary Program for One Day in the Delaware Valley, a unique, one-hour cinema-verite look at life in the Greater Philadelphia tri-state area.
